Canvas Style Customization
Canvas Style Customization
WHAT IS CANVAS STYLE CUSTOMIZATION?
Canvas style customization allows you to change your print from the (default) flexible piece of canvas to a rigid artboard or a stretched canvas over a wooden base frame. There is no change to texture or color of the prints based off the canvas style that you choose.
For details on the customization style types, see pictures and detailed description below.
All prints ship as a rolled piece of canvas by default. Non-customized canvas prints can still be placed in a frame just as they are, as long as there is a backing to the frame.
Canvas customization is only available if purchased at the same time as a print(s) and cannot be purchased for previously placed orders.
HOW DOES ORDERING WORK?
1. Add your canvas fine art print to the cart.
2. Then, from this page, select the style of canvas you prefer with the same size as the print in your cart.
***If you have multiple prints, please leave a note for fulfillment on which customization style belongs to which print(s).***
FINISH OPTIONS + THE DETAILS
Please refer to photo of stacked artwork: Top to bottom
A: Standard Canvas Print (as mentioned above.) —Flexible canvas that comes standard on all canvas orders if you do not choose another finish option from this page. This option is also the perfect choice if you wish to take it to a professional framer to decide how it’ll be framed, or, if you have a frame with a rigid backing to it (common for most photo frames) this is a perfect fit!! Please note: with this option, approximately 2in. of white border is added to the artwork, in addition to the artwork size. This border may be cut off carefully with scissors for framing.
B: Artboard —Flush mounted canvas on black artboard. This provides a lightweight, firm surface for canvas prints and makes them easy to insert in most photo or poster frames. This finish offers a clean borderless mounted canvas that can be framed, or not. This is my favorite way to finish a canvas for prints 16x20 and smaller. (Please note, the depth of a print finished on artboard varies between 1/8in. and 1/4in., depending on size.)
C: Stretched Mount —Canvas print mounted over 3/4 inch thick wooden stretcher bars; the edges are left white. This type of finish is meant to be inserted into a traditional frame. This is a great option for all sizes of prints, and a classic style for artwork and reproductions. It is very much like the surface from the original artwork.
D: Stretched Canvas Wrap —Canvas print mounted over 1.5 inch thick wooden stretcher bars with the image wrapped around the sides with a fraction of an inch around the back. These are usually hung without a frame, but sit beautifully in “float” frames, too. I love this option for all sizes of prints 11x14in and larger, and especially the largest prints!!
WHERE TO FRAME YOUR ARTWORK? —Great question! A small, local frame shop is always my favorite choice, but if you prefer to shop online, HERE are a few of my favorite frames around the web—I also love the selection at Pictureframes.com !
